The ultimate 2023 guide to wedding veil lengths and styles

Are you looking for help choosing the perfect veil for your wedding day? Look no further, because we've got you covered with this ultimate guide to wedding veil lengths.

When it comes to wedding veils, there are so many different lengths to choose from. From short and sweet to long and dramatic, there's a veil out there to suit every bride's unique style and taste. In this blog post, we'll explore some of the most popular wedding veil lengths and help you decide which one is right for you.

First up, we have the shortest veil length of all - the birdcage veil. These cute and stylish veils are typically made from tulle or lace and are attached to a comb or headband for a secure fit. Birdcage veils are perfect for brides who want a vintage-inspired look or a veil that can be easily removed during the reception. Generally these range from 4" to 18" and can vary in styles.

Next, we have the blusher veil. These shorter veils cover the face and are worn over the head. Blusher veils are typically paired with a longer veil for a two-layer look, and are a popular choice for brides who want a little bit of coverage without going too long. Most blushers range between 25" - 35" and can be paired with any length veil.

Elbow length veils measure between 25" - 30" long and usually hit around the elbow or just below. This length is great for brides who have a shorter train or want to go for a more simplistic look.

Waist length veils measure at 30" - 35" long and similar to Elbow length they are perfect for a bride with a shorter train or length dress.  They hit right at or below the waist.

Fingertip veils are a mid-length veil that falls to around the fingertips. These veils are a popular choice for brides who want a little bit of coverage without going too long. Fingertip veils typically measure between 40" - 45"

Waltz length veils measure at approx. 45" - 60" and are perfect for a bride that wants a bit more drama without having a floor touching veil. These veils are great for shorter train dresses as well.

Floor length veils usually hit at or a bit past the floor. These veils measure at approx. 60" - 70" and are perfect for longer dresses. These veils will add a seamless look for your bridal attire.

Mantilla veils are a classic choice for brides looking for a romantic, vintage-inspired veil. These lace veils are typically worn over the head and face and are secured with a comb. Generally these veils will be floor length or longer but can be made at any length.

Drop veils, also known as a waterfall veil. These long veils are attached to a comb at the top of the head and flow down in a series of cascading layers. These veils have a seamless blusher and can be made in any length. Drop veils are a popular choice for brides who want a romantic, elegant look.

Finally, we have Chapel veils and cathedral veils are both long and flowy, with a length that extends beyond the train of the dress. The main difference between the two is that chapel veils are slightly shorter than cathedral veils. These grand, dramatic veils are perfect for brides who want to make a statement on their big day. Chapel veils measure at approx. 70" - 90", where Cathedral is generally 90" or longer.

No matter which veil length you choose, be sure to try on a few different styles to see what looks and feels best on you.
